John Hightower

John Hightower is now offering percussion and acoustic guitar lessons, teaching both popular and classical styles. He studied classical guitar from 1977-1981 at the Lovett School of the Performing Arts with teacher Jack Winchester and later with Mary Ackerman, chair of the guitar department at Kennesaw State University and a teacher at the Maple Street Guitar Center in Buckhead. John met his wife in 1982 and they began writing and performing songs. He was the music director at the Riverside Bible Church in Sandy Springs (now Northside Community Church) from 1990-1992, and has performed as a drummer, singer and guitarist at Perimeter Church in Duluth. John is also a percussionist, teaching the basics of rhythm using drums and other instruments.  Parents don’t forget that he is now registering students for summer!
