The musical theatre major is a collaboration of all three major disciplines (dance, voice and acting; artists study both improvisation for theatre as well as intensive technique training and multiple dance disciplines each semester. This year’s MT major will be invited into the vocal jazz ensemble. This auditioned group will be backed up by a live jazz band to perform a winter and spring cabaret as well as special concert events throughout the summer and into the fall of 2010! Class piano/theory 101 will be offered for those who don’t already have these valuable basics. The new “J” term classes will add to the artist’s arsenal with classes in: stage makeup, acting for television and film, as well as, preparation for auditions and a special class for college placement, auditions and scholarships. MT majors will also join their fellow thespians in two play reading events with Mr. Jeffrey! Pizza is on us! In addition to classroom work we consider independent private vocal study a requirement for this major.
