Theatre / acting majors not only immerse themselves in script work as they study acting technique, but also practice free falling into the intuitive through improvisation. This academic collaboration, will allow the student to navigate not only split second decisions and reaction inherent to stage work, but in addition the students will learn to interpret classical literature and contemporary American theatre as well. Movement is a required class to refine posture and body alignment and aid the actor in projection and resonance of sound as well as preparing the body for stunt and stage combat work. This year’s theatre majors will be given the opportunity to use their creativity to produce and direct their own shows in the academy’s black box theatre! These compass majors will also be invited to attend the two play reading events with Mr. Jeffrey! Pizza’s on us!
