Patrice Freeman, Hip Hop Instructor

Patrice FreemanPatrice Freeman has been dancing since the 4th grade. She began classes at Southern Elite Academy Of Dance in Montgomery, Alabama instructed by Jennifer Griffin. From the moment Patrice laced up her black jazz shoe, dance has remained a major part of her life. Patrice has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. She went on to win first place in her high school talent show two years in a row and also led her church's dance team "Pure Praise" for three consecutive years. Patrice also has an extensive background in gymnastics and cheerleading. In 2008, she was nominated as "UCA's Cheerleader of the Year" and was selected to become their summer camp coach the following year. Patrice loved being the assistant coach for Vista Ridge High School competitive cheer team as well as a gymnastics coach at Gwinnett Gymnastics Center in Colorado.

As a current member of Release Dance Company, Patrice often performs in Atlanta and has enjoyed the opportunity to travel out of state to perform. Patrice also teaches Tap and Ballet dance classes at several local daycares through Creative Movement & Dance. In her free time, she is working on becoming fluent in both Japanese and French. When asked what dance means to her, she responded, "I truly appreciate the arts in all areas of life. I believe it is important to utilize the gifts that I've been blessed with and I want to encourage students of all ages to do the same. To me, dance is an outward expression of an inward emotion. There is no activity like it. I love expressing my love of life through movement. When I dance, I feel joy."
