Katrina Wells Curtis, Dance Instructor   

Ms. Katrina began her ballet studies at age 5 in Illinois with Danley Valsich.  She continued her training in ballet and jazz with Michael Simms at St. Louis Dance Theater.  Upon moving to Atlanta, Katrina trained at Atlanta School of Ballet under Merilee Smith, Robert Barnett, Anne Burton Avery and Carl Ratcliff; she was trained in the French, Vaganova and Cecchetti methods.  As an exchange student in high school, she studied the RAD method at “The Elmherst School”, the feeder school of the Royal Ballet in London England.  She was also a scholarship student at the boarding school The National Academy of Dance in Champaign, Ill.  While attending NAD, Ms. Katrina performed with The National Ballet of Illinois, touring the U.S.A., England, Scotland & Wales. Ms. Katrina's professional performing career also included Atlanta Ballet, City Center Dance Theater and the Stars of American Dance.  Her teaching experience covers 25+ years, in ballet technique, pointe, variations and “Anatomy for Dancers”.  Katrina is very passionate about passing on correct placement to help extend a student's years to perform.
